It looks like it is foggy out there again this morning. It had pretty much burned off by the time I got out for my walk yesterday, not much for pictures.
When I got outside yesterday morning I discovered a bunch of feathers. Something had caught and eaten a quail (?) in my camp. Thinking it was the wee hours because at one point KC got quite agitated. I never heard a thing.
I finally finished sorting the stuff in the screen house. Had a bunch of paperwork to burn, a bunch of trash, and more stuff to get rid of. Had the sorting done by noonish, had some lunch and then went to the post office to pick up my packages. I got my heater, the coffee cone, my small solar panel for charging my phone, and the sewing machine. I saved opening the sewing machine for last, and I was really disappointed. It didn’t travel well, and is broken in several places. I tried to put it back together, but until I find out if I am shipping it back, am going no further. If she doesn’t want it back, I will try fixing it with some epoxy and see if I can get it working. So disappointed! The little heater is pretty kool tho. I fired it up and tested it out. And it isn’t super huge, so I should be able to find a spot to store it.
The rest of the day I read. Started my campfire around 4:30, used one whole bundle of wood. I also got all the burnables burned. Was a nice fire.
I came in around 7 and had to fix dinner. I did absolutely nothing special yesterday. I didn’t get pizza because the timing was off. I was in town too early and had just had lunch. So it was yet another disappointing, unremarkable birthday. Just another day. I am now officially older than Jake.
Since seeing the coyote, fox and whatever was in the bushes last week, I don’t spend much time outside after dark. But while I was sitting there enjoying the campfire last night, I heard the slightest rustle off to my left. When I lit it up, it was a bunny rabbit. :) A cute little white tailed bunny. It came back several times. Too dark for pics. But I thought I had seen a bunny last week. I guess I wasn’t hallucinating.
I did win the auction on eBay for the camera body. I hope it is in better shape than the sewing machine. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but I hope to get most of that back when I sell my other Canon camera. It is the exact same body as my big camera which I will put the smaller lens on and I won’t have to swap lenses any more. I can just grab the one I need and it will be ready to go.
I’m feeling pretty down and lethargic this morning. A whole lonely day in front of me. Again. But I think I am going to head into town this morning. There is a craft fair, a barbecue, later a parade of lights and a chowder tasting thing going on. I can work on the Christmas gifts tomorrow. I haven’t done anything fun yet, and maybe I will enjoy it. Next week I will check out a class at the QIA and see if there is anything I am interested in and feel I can afford. Decent weather and warm temperatures do make a huge difference. If I were still in IP, I wouldn’t leave the house. Probably wouldn’t even get dressed. So I am better off here than I was there. Having a car makes a huge difference too. I am so very glad I bought it.
Just got a response from the seller of the sewing machine, no refund. I don’t know if I want to pursue it or not. I guess I will just try to fix it and maybe try to get my money back thru PayPal. Although I am not sure it will be worth the trouble. Sigh….. Maybe I can find some repair parts online. Another project.
Well, I guess that is about it. Time to get dressed and get myself moving. I could so easily just stay in my jammies all day, but I won’t. I need something fun.
Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteYou should try out a class, learning something new is always good for the mind and soul.
