I’m tired. Yesterday was a very long day. It was slow and we just sat around the majority of the day. If I have to be there, I would much rather be busy. I thought the day would never end. Hopefully it was the last of the triple digit days too. Today is supposed to be in the lower 90’s, which would be comparable to the upper 70’s - lower 80’s for you. A little on the warm side, but definitely bearable. Nights are supposed to be in the 60’s in the next few days. Finally.
I did pay my electric bill yesterday. I am happy to say the bill went down $64. Still almost $150, but it is headed in the right direction.
I fell asleep in front of the TV early. I didn’t even see all of Gray’s, and that was only 7 to 8 PM. Of course that means I have now been up since 2 AM, and it is going to be a very long day. Hopefully it will be a little busier than yesterday. I tried to go back to sleep, but I just lay there. About the time I need to get ready for work is when I will be able to finally go back to sleep.
I brought home a new vent for the bathroom floor, and a wireless doorbell. I don’t hear people knocking on the door, so hopefully the bell will help. I’ll put the chime part in the kitchen above the smoke detector. Should be able to hear that. Hopefully the signal will go that far.
So today is Vicki’s birthday. I have already posted on her FB page. I have a gift for her, but am not sure if I will drop it off before work, have someone take it to the lunch, or drop it off after work. I will have to figure that out soon. I won’t be able to go to her party. I could probably swap my lunch hour, but I am not going to ask. If I do it now, everyone will expect that I can do that any time I want. Wrong message to send. Besides, it wouldn’t be enough time for me to get there, order and get food and back to work before my hour was up. Silly Al’s isn’t exactly speedy.
Went to the post office at lunch. Had a bunch of stuff there as I hadn’t been in almost a week. Got my holly candlesticks, the metal wreath, the clay mold and a couple other things, plus some mail. Then I ate my lunch in the car with it running and the AC going. That worked. Today I will bring my iPad so I can read at lunch.
Tomorrow I want to dig out my fall stuff and put Ellen’s table topper out. I will also need to vacuum and wash the floors. Sunday Vicki has to drive to Palm Springs to pick up her daughter at the airport. I am going along for the ride as I haven’t been there yet. She says it is about a three hour ride round trip. Then she and her daughter are off to Kingman for a funeral. So I guess Monday I will be driving myself to Blythe and pick up some groceries. My fridge is literally empty and making lunches is getting difficult. I also need to find some fall ornaments for the horseshoe tree, thinking maybe Dollar Tree for that.
I’m definitely eating less on days that I work. No snacks and somewhat healthy lunches. They would be healthier if I had some fruit and veggies in the house. Maybe I will finally loose some of the weight I gained back over the summer.
i wish you could turn your horseshoe tree the other way up as it is said to hang a horse shoe upside down makes all the luck run out. i like the tree it is an ingenious idea
ReplyDeleteYeah, but if I did that, I wouldn't be able to hang ornaments on it.
